I have been working of an update for the BBC gamebase, since i think it looked dull with only one screenshot per game. Also will add some more extras. You should see a release very soon.

Super, can I also make a suggestion if you use the key values 'under f2' and use emu=electrem for electron games and emu=Beebem fir the BBC micro games and then gamebase will select the correct emulator for the correct system. You would have to do this for each game entry which I know is abit of a ball ache but it will make the gamebase mire slick

That would be nice indeed, but I don't see a way to make this work.
GEMUS looks for the file extension and starts the GEMUS script for the first emulator in the list that supports that file type.

Using a key=value pair could check if the current emulator is the correct one, but if it isn't, it can only display a message like "Use emulator X to run this game.".
When GEMUS is parsing a certain script, it cannot switch to the script of another emulator.

Maybe I'm overlooking something. If so, can you provide a small sample script that demonstrates what you suggest? I'm quite interested in how to make this work.

BBC gamebase is only BBC games, there maybe a few that work on an electron as well. I think you get mixed up with my Acornamania gamebase which is based on both BBC and Electron. I will maybe do an update some time to add extra screenshots and stuff. You can use f2 to select key values to select various emulators for selected games useing emu=emuname.

You need the lastest beta released a week or so ago to get it to work.

Hi Hardmanm.

I wonder if you have any ideas about this.

A little while ago I have been through my personal bbc collection and added a some images mainly tape images that were not in the previous gamebase released before your new one or not on any of the BBC sites e.g. stairwaytohell.

What I want to do is add them to your new gamebase as it seems much better. Do you know of any easy way of comparing your new bbc gamebase with another bbc gamebase to find out the differences so that I then know which games to add to yours.

Many Thanks

J.S.

Most of the games are already in acornmania, i will work on putting the rest in sometime, also all the screenshots too. At the moment im working on a update of my Atari800 gamebase, before i do any Acornmania stuff.

Thats the problem with me making so many gamebases, finding the time. The reason for updating the BBC one is that i thought it looked a bit naff with only one screenshot per game. I now think it looks very good, and will only now update Acornmania in the future.

Search for Acornmania on this forum. It is a gamebase that combines BBC & Electron games. There is a working link of v2.1 by Hardman and updated by .mad. at the end of the post.
