Several questions - different GameBase projects

Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:02 am

Hi :)

I have got several questions about some GameBase's:

1. Atari 5200 - I use KAT 5200 and I can't force steering to work properly in games:
- DEFENDER - ship flyes to down, FROGGER - can't go forward until I press emulated FIRE button, GALAXIAN - moves right all the time, KANGAROO - the same, POLE POSITION - the same.

My controls:

Joystick as KEYBOARD:
-----------------------
moves - NUM cursors
FIRE1 - SHIFT
FIRE2 - CTRL

Joystick as JOYSTICK:
-----------------------
moves - cursors
FIRE1 - SHIFT
FIRE2 - CTRL

Even if I change fire buttons in JOYSTICK mode to: RSHIFT, RCTRL, it always replace to LSHIFT, LCTRL (I use save configuration). I don't know what to do, so can anyone upload for me own proper config of KAT 5200 ? Or should I use MESS with Atari 5200 ? If so, Gamebase Atari 5200 does not contain script for MESS.

2. I can't force Gamebase Amiga to play music files. I see "Play Music" option available for many games, but it does not work. DeliPlayer inside, configured extension as MOD in Gamebase, but message I see is "no appropriate output plugin available".

MusicPlayers.ini:

[Players]
1=DeliPayer
2=
[DeliPayer]
UseShortFilenames=0
PlayerPathFile=E:\Emulators\GameBase\Gamebase Amiga\EXTRAS\Other\DeliPlayer.exe
CommandLineParams=%musicfile%
SupportedTypes=ZIP;MOD;

3. GBA - Sonic Advance 1 & 2 does not work with "VisualBoyAdvance-M". Does it need a patch ?
Some games don't use save, like Mario vs Donkey Kong, do I need some patch from somewhere for them ?

4. SPECCYMANIA - I configured controller as moves = cursors and left SHIFT as fire in Kempston mode. Most of games plays properly, but YIE AR KUNG FU does not work properly, when I press left SHIFT (choosen Kempston mode in game), game freezes. Why ? Bad FIRE button ?

5. I can't play game MORPH in Gamebase Amiga. No matter what I press in demonstration mode: FIRE, space, whatever, can't play because game ALWAYS shows demonstration (moves back to previous screen and after a while shows demo).

I've tested several versions:

"AGA" version from Gamebase:

"SPS" - moves to CLI before run game
"whdload" - DOS ERROR #205

non-AGA versions I've tested were from CLS, PDX groups - it only shows demonstration when I press FIRE button

I've tested it on several emulated Amiga models with 1MB SLOW + CHIP or default configurations or other "Amiga's", but no effects.

If any on You have proper working version of this game (AGA or OCS/ECS), please upload it for me.

Excuse me if questions/requests are so dummy.

Deliplayer works for me fine...I don't know if this helps: the only difference is that i used a clean installation i found here http://www.brothersoft.com/deliplayer-62987.html.That's because when i downloaded gamebase amiga (long ago from underground gamer) it didn't have inside the program.Regarding morph i can't get it to work either!When i press space(in sps or normally) i toggle the demonstration,then i see for a little while the title screen and then i end up on an amiga dos screen.whdload doesn't work at all(just a black screen...

After installation I see the same message.

Even downloading additional players from "http://eab.whdownload.com/VIP/~PUBLIC/M ... players.7z" did not help.

No matter, I can live without it.

Rest of problems (except Gamebase Amiga) still needs help :)
