Macintosh Garden Gamebase Request
Hey all! If anyone wants to spearhead such a project I'd help in any way I can. There are a couple of Apple Gamebases but I haven't seen an old mac one. Mac Garden has a great collection and I thought it might be cool to use it as a resource...

the problem, imho, is to find an emulator than will run games or apps very fast and not to open anytimes MacOS 7 or 8 and run games from it.
Something like Winuae that run WHDLoad or ADF i don't know if exist to run MacOS 6 and MacOS 7 games.
MacGarden is going to dead within some days and any games are .sit...

But seeing as the game files are emulated on a PC, in a virtual mac system.
Have you tried expanding the "stuffit" files in a PC Windows environment.
http://downloads.info/windows/utilities ... s-x86.html
drag the stuffed file into the small executable to expand it.
also this might help?
http://www.jagshouse.com/stuffit.html
a quick search shows similar tools are out there for x64 (win7).
It's also possible to get Snow Leopard 10.4 up and running on a x86 intel PC. With Virtual Box. So any unstuffing can be done in that.
search "hackingtosh" for more info.
Fisrt off i know nothing about mac files.Seiya wrote: it's a hard work decompress games and then copy in OS7 with vmac.
stuffit require 7.1..

i tried everything.
i used Stuffit for windows and hfsv explorer and yes, i have esported many games in a small mac partition.
VMac isn't a good idea to use on gamebase because it support oldest macos and many games don't work.
I tried with Basilisk 2, but here is the space required to all games.
All games of Macgarden are 1,2 GB compressed, but to store all these games require more big partition.
The only way is to make several 50 MB image with MacOS 7.5.3 and 1 games and then launch through Gamebase, but macgarden are about more 800 games..
i'm a newbie in gamebase..i could make it, but will become too big..
and onther problem is that gamebase don't launch Basilisk 2 because it dont see mac rom..
for now, i want to finish demobase dos, maybe i can try again with mac...later

Surely you are confusing the Macintoshgarden with MacHeaven? The latter is the one which is going down, and which is why the big archive was posted.
Personally, I have been using Basilisk II, Mini Vmac, MESS and Sheepshaver (briefly). I have to say, I'm not really that fond of Basilisk II because of some stability issues and such, though I understand it's pretty much the standard for colour emulation (on Windows at least) Mini Vmac does what it's supposed to do pretty good - gives you access to the Mac library up to the early 90's. I've been using MESS mostly for the B&W games that won't run on it, but there is at least one other emulator (confusingly called"PCE/Macplus") on Windows for the old Macs.
