I can't seem to log in, but yeah, that's it :) I can't/don't host the ISOs, so you will need to source them else where. I think you can get the screenshots and so on from here though (at least you used to be able to - it's been a while!)

:)

Never heard of Gamebase ST.... link?

The homepage for Gamebase ST and ZX are:

http://www.gamebasest.com
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/GamebaseZX/

There is also a forum on this website dedicated to both Gamebase's.

It's been a long time since I've been here, so I haven't yet checked to see if a Mac version has been finished yet. I use Power 64 - one of the best C64 emulators I've used to date (and I've used various emulators on both Mac and Windows). Sorry, didn't mean to run off on a tangent. I'll actually go look for the Mac version now. :)

As far as I know, v0.86 is the latest "Gamebase64 for Mac" and was released early last year. It's available for download at http://art.gen.nz/gamebase64/ and other sites.

Utter Confusion. Show Me The Games.

Fri Mar 04, 2005 11:02 am

Have been following this thread to solve my utter confusion over how to play C64 games on my Mac G4.

I have downloaded and can open the application called "GameBase64" which seems to be written for Mac OS X.
I got the application from the website of the guy who is talking in this forum as a guest.

And now I have no clue as what to do.

Where are the games ??????????

All I can find is .exe files, weird music files and endless talk about Windoze emulation.

Ok, 3 years is a long time, but I'm new to this gamebase thing, and love the idea. What about the mac version. The site referenced higher in the posts is gone (error 404). I tried to look for something on this website, but didn't find anything.

Do I have to make one or is there still something available around?

I might make a version of GameBase which works on OSX (been playing with cocoa for a while, though I would probably go for Python). But for that to happen I need to convince the database maintainers to abandon the access file format for something more "open", like xml or sqlite

I've got a copy of the old version if anyone wants to take a look at it. Unfortunately, it isn't universal. :(

There is currently a thread here about a possible GB64.NET. If it were to be using MONO, it's possible that a native Mac/Cocoa front end would be doable.
