Hi Jimbo,

it would be nice, to have seperator lines on the Sidebar.
'cause if you have many Extras, it would be more clear....

Up to now, i use "blank" Extra-URL's to have seperator lines...
(by using \Gfx\quicklinks\ --------------------.gif

look here :

again a question/feature request :

Is it possible to add an Extra (Standard, GEMUS, Music, URL) by using "all Games in current view"
(up to now, it isn't possible for Extras...only for other "meta-infos", right ? )

Just a bug I noticed that in the most recent version of Gamebase when it automatically names the game for me let's say it's called "Whatever II" instead of listing as "Whatever II" it changes it to "Whatever Ii" and than I have to click on it on the list and rename it by hand.. not a huge problem as it doesn't come up a lot but just letting you know

I agree Mark.

It would be also nice if you can add videoclip-support.....(direct on the GUI)
Maybe you know, i'm also a Fan of the Frontend eCC (EmuControlCenter)....

Now, there is "eCC2 - The next generation" in developement.
This suppports videoclips 8)
I've made a small clip on YouTube :

The game-videoclips are *.flv files.
Is this also possible in GB ?

Hi all,

My time is extremely limited these days - but I think I may be able to add video support using Windows Media Player's wmp.dll.

I've had a brief look and it seems possible, but can't say for sure until I've given it a good test. (this will add ~4mb onto the GB install size btw)

Don't expect this in a few days or anything, but I'll try to take a look soon.

Gemus.dat bug

Sun Dec 04, 2011 3:07 pm

Hi Jimbo,

Gamebase Emulator Setup Wizard has a BUG.
i mentioned it a while ago, but i might know what it is.

using gemus.dat.
It can fail to find emulator .EXE files for certain crc32.

Only noticed the bug with two emulators so far, and the only common thing i can see, is they both have a crc32 that starts with a Zer0.

Code: Select all

(gemus.dat)

I can't wait for those changes any longer so I decided to download the latest GB sources and VB 2008 Express and try to learn and debug myself.

Only to find out this had been done on VB 6, so converting the source to VB 2008 causes hundreds of errors. But either I instead dl VB 6.0 or debug the errors.

Either way the changes I wanted should be simple such as enlarging the font when you Expand Notes.

But main priority is animating GIFs in VB, wondering if VB 2008 supports them if I convert, debug, then re-build.

One major feature I can think of is a gamebase exporter.
I read a while back that somebody suggested we make a version of the database in sqlLite ( for a VB.NET port if I remember the post correctly ). Having the CSV exporter would make it much easier to convert the tables... ( Also a few CREATE GameBase SQL-92 files.
Also a gamebase developer's feature: a longer year list. Either 1959 or 1960 would be a good starting point. ( The earliest IBM that SIMH supports was released in 1959, but the oldest Software dumps i've seen are from the 1960's ).
( I may start doing a PDP-8 Base )

Any news on a new version ? If there is, any chance we can get video support ?
Thanks,

Yep - vid support is planned - but I'm not getting much done at the moment - when the darker evenings come along I'll get some more done!
