how to play downloaded games for C64

Wed Sep 22, 2010 6:59 am

Hi, I'm new to this website, but I am long time Commodore 64 fan. I have a question regarding the games. When I download a game, what program to have to use in order to play it? Is there an emulator I have to use to play the games? Sorry if it sounds a dumb question, but I couldn't figure it out. thanks in advance to anybody who can answer my question.

There are many good emulators for the c64.

VICE

Hoxs64

CCS64
http://www.ccs64.com/

download the emulator version that best suits your PC/MAC setup.

1) run the emulator and setup your joystick, sound, gfx card.

2) unzip your C64 game image.

3) drag the C64 file (.D64 .PRG .TAP .T64 .G64) into the emulator window.

4) play the game.
