Polish Wheel of Fortune

Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:09 pm

I've got the tape with "Fortuna Kołem Się Toczy" (aka. Koło fortuny [Wheel of Fortune]) Developed by Vermes, published in 1995 by Marex. Does anyone know this game? Is this game in gamebase?

No it isn't in GB64 I believe. I've actually got the game on cartridge but have been unable to dump it out just yet. If you've got the tape, then we'd be interested in it :)

Said carts I own from Poland have a number of other Polish games yet to be archived as well...

I've got the tape, but is in Poland anybody who can dump it? Or maybe how I can do it?

Has the info you need... if you think you can't do it yourself (either by buying or building the necessary cables) then myself and a couple of the other GB64 members who live in Europe would be able to do it if you sent us the tape.

Actually this game is in the GB queue, but it will not be in the upcoming v03 release. We still would like to get the original tape version.

Also, I have a couple of questions about it that you might be able to help with. There are 2 Polish versions by Vermes/Marex, probably disk & tape, and one says nothing about Marex. Are you sure it is (C) 1995? In-game says (C) 1993 for both versions I have. And is the title "Fortuna Kolem Się Toczy" or "Fortuna kolem się toczy" (I know it's picky, but I have no idea how to properly capitalize titles in Polish)?

Other Polish games in the queue, but not in the upcoming v03 release:
Bürgermeister
Captain Blood
Castle (LK Avalon)
Color Mania
Detektyw
Droga do Dupland
Ekonomia Feudalna
Gwiezdny Manager (LK Avalon)
Hobbit Czyli w te I Wewte
Klepkomania
Kolo Fortuny (Duomato)
Kolo Fortuny II
Kupiec
Liga Polska
Lingos
Master Head
Miliard W Rozumie (not 100%)
Niedziela Cudow
Orotris
Poker (TimSoft disk version)
Poker PL
Samowolka
Sklep
Slownik Angielsko-Polski
Spekulant Europejski
Topografie Europa
Triade (TimSoft)
Zycie Maklera

The game title is : Fortuna Kołem Się Toczy - Koło Fortuny. I will translate (lame) the text from the paper included:

"Fortuna Kołem Się Toczy
Three-level version
LOADING A PROGAM
Please turn off the cartdrige and press RETURN.
Attention!
There will be new version of "Fortuna Kołem Się Toczy" with new set of 1000 interesting words. We'll publish version for children and version with option to made own words, too. Ask for programs published by "MAREX", it's legal producer."
I will run this game and say more about it later (maybe today).

PS. "Ortotris", not "Orotris".

Thanks. Orotris was just a typo, since we do have the tape(?) version already in GB.

It sounds like the cart version might be a little different from the 2 I have.

Just to ask, are there any Polish games on the Atrax carts I own, that are either not in GB64 or waiting to be added for v03?

"Operation Proboszcz" is already in GB, but the credits have not been updated (they will be). Code=Robert Kan (Druid), Comanche (Rafal Kwasny) did graphics only. © is (Not Published), since this is a demo. Language="English/Polish"

If yours is different than what is in GB, then I don't have it.
