Bugged Game: American 3D Pool

Sat Mar 04, 2006 9:45 am

Game: American 3D Pool

File: AMD3DPOOL_00283_01.ZIP

Problem: Let it run until it enters in demo mode. Wait and it locks randomly, usually with the writing "Position Cue Ball Then Press Fire".

Fix/Alternate : The version on www.c64.com doesn't seem to have this problem

Notes: tested on VICE and a real C64 with MMC64. Anyone can confirm?

I can confirm the lockup bug in the demo in both PAL and NTSC in every emulator I tried (pretty much all of them).

Maybe Rough or another Chromance member would like to do a proper crack?

Points please :P :)

The version on c64.com worked fine, for the time I played it. It could serve as a temporary replacement.

Also, where can I download an updated list of known bugged games?

Update: although the Chromance release freezes in demo mode, you can still get back to main menu by pressing the / key.

bad to hear my old crack bugs.

Chromance 64 is dead btw, cos Mr.Wax its founder/"leader" died in a car accident. http://www.scs-trc.net/forbalazs/index.shtml

I rebuilt Laser therefore to do oldie cracks, but working on my home page is more fun. I have Garfield and Count Duckula in progress, the first one needs still a 1oo% NTSC fix, the other one just needs a music rip then I'll put it out (in 2 years... haha)

Hmm. I tried to find "American 3D Pool" on c64.com but all I got from the search was "3D Pool" which looks like a different game entirely. Was it called something else? - Could you maybe provide a link to it?

Thanks!

the url www.c64.com was taken over by the guys from www.c64hq.com, their site is better in detail but features way less games, that's why American 3D Pool isnt there.

@ROUGH: Keep on with oldie-cracking. Your work really rocks. :D

Thanks for your appreciation, but I lost interest in doing oldie cracks, I prefer working on Pirate's Portal which is down for two months as emucamp.com was cancelled. But I hope to get a new host in the next months. I just need to take the time to ask around.

Sad to hear you won't do any oldie-cracking no more.
There ain't many groups left for quality cracking and there are alot of games still to be fixed.
But good luck to you in anything you do,
you're one of the guys that the c64-community really needs. 8)
