Well, you fooled one of the GTW team!...

Btw, as soon as Dave Palmer finds the disk ... it is found. He's been searching for it on and off. According to Ashley Routledge, it was a hefty game. Apparently the master disk could actually be two master disks :)

Wish I could say the same about "Murder!" ... we've almost exausted all the routes :( ... The person who will know it's whereabouts?... Bob Armour... Find that guy, and that could be the key!

Right! David's e-mail was the highlight of my day! :)

Seriously it was, due to the news that Ashley sent some disk with a beta version that's close to the finished version.

Have you seen this disk yet?

As for Murder, I'm sure we'll find it next year ... on April 1st!

Yes, but Dimitris keeps calling it DUFFY DUCK rather than DAFFY DUCK... maybe there are two lost games?

Actually, there's been a development on the Daffy Duck front. Will keep you posted.

Anything related to the eBay auction? I'm still wondering if that's real or a hoax... typical I had to be away this weekend and not see it...

Yup sadly :)

Mockup shows discrepancies and hence gives things away...

1) Scan grabbed from GB (Same colour range of farm level)
2) Barn has been flipped, the door hasn't. Look at the wood beam shading closely! :) ... Daffy is pixelly in perfect position to the original scan, just flipped.
3) Green floor tiling is distorted.
4) Shade of the number 7 in the score is different - lighter shade as in the 7 used on the Space level ...
5) Paused text looks photoshopped ... not centered either.
6) No TV reflection like in the disk listing (Which misses the intro sequence and a few of the levels - disk is only notched once).

Daffy

Mon Apr 16, 2007 11:09 pm

I saw Daffy Duck on Ebay and it sparked my memory. The pics looked pretty bad.

After Phil at Zzap! reviewed Daffy Duck, the review disk was never returned to Hi-Tec. It was a fascinating game to play and we could never bring ourself to format it.

David Palmer has the original poster and artwork but as for the disk, I don't think he does.

I have the Zzap disk that Hi-Tec sent. One level fails to work but it can be skipped (right now I'm using a cartride to jump it).

Right now we are looking at either holding an auction for one copy or a bulk auction to avoid piracy. It may also be distributed in the public domain.

A generous four figure offer has also been made by a crack group member.

Course a few people will say it's a lie but we're going to do it right and have a video capture - no crappy screenshots.

Right now its in the capable hands of a trusted friend, who's making a copy for backup and we're going to try to one disk size it.

We think this warrants a daffyduckfound.com website

Stay tuned for more

These are great news, if true ... With all this talk about the hoax auction people have become apprehensive.

You were working in ZZAP? What's your real name?

We'll appreciate receiving a fresh screenshot of the title screen, which can prove a lot to the people who know. Can you tell me if the title screen is animated, and if yes, what exactly is its animation?

Thanks+Best Regards
Dimitris

Anyone can act like a former zzap editor and promise heaven and earth!

I can only nod at Dimitris when he says "... if it's true".

I think we all know by now, we'll probably never see this game. If only a Prototype exists (existed), Dave or Ash would have produced it for duplication to Pete Rittwage. Pete's got the equipment, AND great software to get the job done.

SOMEBODY would have stumbled on it at eBay or wherever, I'm sure. Too bad, It looks like it was (would have been) a great game! Since GB64 DOES have a unique file number for the game, I took all the screenshots, and writeups I could find on it, and included a disk with a self-displaying picture of Daffy that I personally drew with GeoPaint back in the mid 80's!! (For one of my kids)

The picture is pretty good (Even if I say so MYSELF!!). I added it to my "Personal" copy of the GB Game CD...

If anyone wants it, send me an email!

seeya,

JB
