Site Comments and Game Bug Report

Thu Nov 27, 2003 8:34 pm

I like the design of the site but there is so much on it that it took me very long to find the most wanted list and the list with the bugged games.

Also I wanted to mail someone because I have a game from the wanted list but got no anwer yet.

So I tell you here what I wanted to tell you:

1. I got "Krieg der Kerne"

2. I fear I have to make you aware of the following typical bugs in two games:

The Games: Winter Edition had the bug with the Cross Country. I didn't the High Score List of Winter and Summer Edition but you can find my exact Bug Description there:

http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=u0 ... put=gplain

So please mark at least Winter Edition as bugged.

I also fear that the German Version of the Mask of the Sun has follwing bug (although I didn't try it):

See
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=de&l ... le%2BSuche

I tried the first bug and it seems to be fixed by sven, but I guess this version ends with the englisch command.

So, years later... Did someone fix the German Version of Mask of the Sun? Does it work now?

About Krieg der Kerne: What should be the difference between
http://www.gb64.com/game.php?id=13178&d=18&h=0 and
http://www.gb64.com/game.php?id=9875&d=18&h=0

Concerning the Epyx Game Editions: Seems we have to wait for a recrack since the original versions also contain these bugs. :-(

Eh, by the way shouldn't this be some 30 Points for me for proving that the Epyx Summer and Winter Edition is bugged?

Martin, nice to see you back!

Mask of the Sun
How can one see the fault. Have you tested the GameBase version?

Krieg der Kerne
The one from the 64'er was programmed by "Martin Rogge". The version in Happy Computer was programmed by "Hartmut Wörrlein & Henrik Fisch" so it seems to be a different game.

Michael

See the thread at:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=de&l ... ogle-Suche

I also have a VSF image for Vice ther and then you can instert the disk and try. If you don't have time I'll try it after this weekend, ok?

All versions I found on the internet are corruped so I wouldnt be surprised if this one also has the same bug. So, I'm away now for this weekend, but I'll tell you afterwards if you didn't try in between.

Ok, here some news about Mask of the Sun:

The 1st Bug doesn't seem to exist. :-) Didn't try the other one yet.

But when loading this game in Vice it will stop with an error message. :-( Maybe there still is some bug.

Ok, but then you'll also get -100 points for "guessing" that Mask of the Sun is faulty! 8)

Mask of the Sun (German) should have True Drive Emulation set to Yes, even for CCS64, so it isn't bugged, but the GB setting is wrong.

Sure, but I set the True Drive Emulation to yes, of course! But it didn't work.

So which emulator do you use for getting it to work? I think I'll try it on the real C64 if it still doesnt work.

GameBase is based upon CCS64 2.0 compatibility, becasue it is more compatible than VICE! This is one of those cases. Use CCS64. The game is not bugged.

Pah... I tell you something... I'll use my Commodore for this!! :D

I didn't transfer something to the 1571 for ages but I'll transfer that next time and check out on the Commodore if this game is bugged or not. Bus as the 1st bug doesn't appear I think there are good chances that also the 2nd one isn't there.
