A lot of the spammers will be trying to get links back to their sites to boost their search engine ranks.

Implementing the nofollow tag is the way google suggests to prevent this.

I would say a button for each user would be good that he can click it so that postings from users that he want not to see he will not see. Possible this will help a little bit. :D
