Missing Game "Pimania"

Tue Nov 16, 2004 2:22 pm

AFAIK the ZX81/Spectrum Game "Pimania" was also released for the C64, but I didn't find it in the GameBase.

I can't recall it ever being released for the C64....I used to get Popular Computing Weekly every week and Mel Croucher's cartoony ads where consistantly on the back cover and I can remember no mention of a c64 version.

Probably never made/released

I came to think that it had been released for C64 because there are lists of adventure games on the internet where it says

Pimania
[G] For Commodore 64, Spectrum. Written in Basic. "not exactly an
adventure as such, most odd game"
(e.g. http://members.tripod.com/~Morgothjm/adventure.txt)

But on second thought you are probably right - there are some of these lists, but I think one copied from the other and the mistake got carried on...

So - case closed!

Thanx, Pi-Man.

I have also read that it was released by Automata UK Ltd. for the C64. It's in my missing list, but reading about a release on the Web is no guarantee.

My missing games list is much more comprehensive than the GB list. I have over 400 games listed as missing/broken, but many of them probably never existed. The GB list has mostly games that have some solid proof of existence.

No, sorry, this game was never on a ZZAP! covertape. "Munch Mania" was on the Commodore Format covertape, but that's a different game...
