cannot start gb64 v1.2 under windows7 64

hi all,

i am new to gamebase 64. i use the winvice 2.2 emu and it works fine. however when i try to start gb64 1.2 nothing happens and yes i tried the vbrun60.exe too. but i dont know if this thing install anything. it opens a window, that runs something but it is closing very fast, so i dont know what exactly happened. i tried everything: compatibilty mode, with admin rights, installed it on a another drive... all without success  i am under windows 7 64bit, but all it does is only some spinning and nothing more. if i check the taskmanager, it shows that it starts, but quit itself after a view seconds. what i am doing wrong here?

what makes me wonder is, i have succesfully installed the old frontend gb64 v1.2 from your old site. i dont know whats the difference? but this version starts and i can choose the pathes etc. i didnt checked a game, but the app runs.

the last thing is, where do i get the game-package for the database to work? or do i really need to add each game manually? i mean i have some, but not all of the gb64 database.

any help is welcome and thank you in advance

sad that no one could not help me, but i find the solution for my problem. under windows 7 there is a new feature called "data execution protection - d.e.p.". if you want a working gamebase you need to add it under the d.e.p. make a search in your windows-help and it will point you to that option.
normally the d.e.p. function is useful to prevent apps to execute a code which could harm your system. i am not a programmer, but it seems that the frontend use some code, which windows 7 dont like and thats the reason, why it dont starts.
after doing this, everything works fine and i also found the "Gamebase64v07.zip" torrent. now i am a very happy gamebase64 user. thats a really cool thing, suddenly there is a system in the chaos :D
