Re: Commodore Amiga
Ok this is the video:
https://mega.nz/file/2jQEzQAb#qPpMlAGSg ... KhAKcqIoc0
As you can see there was various emulators.ini, just to test, but noone work.
I also loaded another amiga system I have just to show you that it work, same for MSDOS GOLDIES.
I tried in video to push button LOAD GEMUS, as you can see error is just after my click.

Re: Commodore Amiga
in the ini there is an error, but it should be ignored because me too it working.
there three 4.2 setup. but in reality there only 2.
[4.2 overlady] is wrong name, but it is the right config.
[4.2 overley] hasn't a config.
i don't think that could the problem,. because at me working in 2 computers.
however to have everything in correct way:
rename [4.2 Overlay] in [4.2 not working]
rename [4.2 Overlady] in [4.2 Overlay]

Re: Commodore Amiga
i understood the problem (maybe)
you must follow this order:
1) select a name of emulator
2) selct the path of emulator
3) load script file.
4) put the format of file (adf, zip, ipf, ecc)

Re: Commodore Amiga
only the script needs changing when using the same emulator version.
this shouldn't be necessary...
WinUAE5300\winuae.exe
WinUAE5300 overlay\winuae.exe
anyway here is a trimmed down version.
it still might not work, as i haven't seen the other files yet.
check if the files are in these dirs
K:\GameBase\Commodore Amiga\Emul\WinUAE5300\winuae.exe
K:\GameBase\Commodore Amiga\Emul\WinUAE5300\winuae.ini
K:\GameBase\Commodore Amiga\Scripts\amigawhd-mt32.txt
open the winaue.ini in a text editor and check paths to the kickstarts
check paths to files in the config .UAE files

did you fix it?
this script will always set false if nothing is in gemus
If Key_cycle_exact CONTAINS(true||false)
Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||cycle_exact||%cycle_exact_value%)
Else
Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||cycle_exact||false)
End If
; it might also depend on another CPU setting or chip set.
Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||cpu_cycle_exact||true)
Toni Wilen says...
Only 68000 (and 68010) is cycle-accurately emulated. Later models can't be emulated cycle-accurately because internal instruction sequencer timing is not known.
For most whdload games approximate speed or memory cycle-exact is fine (memory cycle exact = CPU is internally fastest possible but any "slow" access = chip ram/custom registers/CIA accesses are slowed down like on real hardware). Usually even fastest possible work.
btw, don't attempt to to use CPU speed slider to "fix" specific games. Its CPU speed change effect can and will change between versions.

i notice this thing:
if i play with CD32 game that use cpu_cycle_exact=true the game run with cycle_exact enabled.
If i play immediately after Star Wars Dark Forces that is se to cycle_exact=false, it load with cpu_speed=max and cycle_exact=true and the game is very slow.
in the Commodore Amiga.uae there is printend the setting of CD32 game and not Dark Forces.
maybe it has always worked this way but before with adf and whd it didn't matter about cycle exact. Now with HD games, CD-ROM and those that require maximum speed, I notice this thing.
Re: Commodore Amiga
but don't change the result. if i put in gemus values "cycle_exact=true" the game is loaded with cycle_exact=false.

Re: Commodore Amiga
Just had a look at my last script (2022).
i have used separate configs for these options
Amiga.uae
CD32.uae
CDTV.uae
HDF.uae
WHDLoad.uae
my CD32 script is very basic and only has cycle_exact=true
with no options to change anything but memory size and joystick in GEMUS.
the config is activated with...
MODE=CD32
so it's always been like that.
i assumed "true" to be correct for CD32, and not a changeable option.
Dark Forces seems to be a PC port, not a genuine CD32 game.
so it needs a boost or tweaking in emulator to run correctly???.
this is an easy fix.
just need to know what a good working config looks like (for you).
so i can compare all CPU and Chip settings.
