Was this an American company or a UK based one?
Was Sparklers THEIR budget label? pretty weird.
I've got a version of Slurpy a game (C) Creative Sparks where the basic line says SUPERSOFT which isnt a cracker, but a UK company which I believed to import many titles start 80s to UK.

Creative Sparks was the computer games software arm of the electronics/electrical company Thorn-Emi. Sparklers was their budget label...and yes they where a UK based company. They did re-release some older stuff...hence the supersoft (c) notice.

Well they didn't introduce the Creative Sparks brand till 1984, so if the VIC20 games were released in 1984 or before it would have had the Thorn-Emi logo. I believe they introduced the brand because most of the games were so dire they didn't want the Thorn-Emi brand associated it with it...after all expensive military electronics didn't really go well with relatively bad games that Thorn-Emi was putting on the market.

However... I do have a Vic20 game under the Creative Sparks label! It should be Thorn EMI, but for whatever reason (a later rerelease?) it got CS instead. But yes, the alter ego label thing was probably the reason.
