the final version of gambase ZX is ready
it has 6200 entries that are filled with
info on(year,publisher,genre)
some of the games have pokes

this is as far as i will develop in this database others are welcome to add to it and make it even better.
i don't have a place to put it on the net so others can download it if anyone has any idea on where can i put it please let me know(hillelr@gmail.com)
i want to thank all the people who helped making this database possible
Credits:
Paul Thompson who started gamebaseZX and whom i based my database on.
I would like to thank all the GB team and especially James Burrows who made and contributed to the gamebase engine that made all this possible.
Many thanks also to Martijn van der Heide for the 'World of Spectrum' website (http://www.worldofspectrum.org/)
which i took most of my information and screenshots for for the games.
Thanks to the tipshop website http://www.the-tipshop.co.uk/ which i took the pokes and walkthroughs from.
Thanks to the speccy screenshot maps site http://maps.speccy.cz/ which i took all of my maps from.
Thanks to http://www.rzxarchive.co.uk/ which i took all the rzx walkthroughs from.

:( & :)
Can I be one of the first to say, THANK YOU so much for all the hard (I really do understand what is involved here) work.
It is a shame you have decided to end, but after all this work (done by yourself alone?) I understand.
I look forward to an emule download (or similar) one day to enjoy the new fatter fuller speccy gamebase.
I have a few cassette scans I am compiling, so I may even add a few personal touches to your collection!
Regards,
Arthur.

hmmmmm.
the onlyprob I can see is they would not host the 'ahem' games themselves as a handy single download .zip
I think perhaps an emule upload is best.
I actually am willing to (if I get the .zip containing the whole directory, or the seperate folders zipped) host this for a week or two...
failing that , a tree?

I'm sure WoS would host the DATABASE. Whether they then did a similar thing to www.gb64.com and denied downloads of games is up to them...

Hi.
Some questions....
- Is the archive on sendspace complete? I unpacked everything and can't seem to find any games, so I assume no games are included? Also, I did a "Verify Available Files" and I got:
Pictures not found: 2/6216
Extras not found: 1092/2542
- Are there any music files? I see a music player has been identified, but no music files?
- Same with emulators. Any available that I don't see, or should I just download them myself?
And finally, there's 2 directories that weren't needed... "backup GBZX games" and "Backup sam coupe". Obviously not a problem. I just thought I'd bring it up
Thanks for the work you've put into this hillelr! It's unbelievable!

hi
mr angry
about your questions
there are no games or music in this package
about the pictures not found i thought i had all the games covered
with screenshots but maybe i missed two.
about the extras not all games in WOS have extras.
the database is not complete it arrived to the stage that i am happy with it and i will not continue it - any one else is welcome to do so.
i didn't include the emulators i figured any one has his own emulator and can add or delete the emulators as he sees fit.
about the backup directories i didn't pay attention when i zipped
but its not a big deal you can just delete them.

Just to let people know who maybe looking for hillelr's fine work, I have renamed his spectrum gamebase file to spectrum ZX gamebase hillelr.zip and will share it on emule for the next 3-4 months at a minimum.
I changed the name because an awful lot of files are returned just searching for spectrum.

I look forward to it appearing on Emule (and I will leave the share open for a week or two!)
