Where is GameBASE VIC ? - 'Official' site dead

Fri May 18, 2007 9:14 pm

Does anyone have or know where I can get GameBase VIC20 (GBVIC20v01) from?
I've looked everywhere. The 'official' site lookeds like it's dead for over 2 years.

Any other site I've managed to find via google or DogPile all link back to the dead site.

I've notice from reading the GameBase VIC thread that a few people, a few years
ago managed to get. So it is out there SOMEWHERE!

I'm wondering why GamBase 64 is not hosting it. There was mention in a thread
here somewhere that they were going to.

If someone could email mail it to me, I could even set up a host site for it.

Thanks Bill.

(btw, I cross posted to this thread because the GB VIC thread has not had a post for
1 year, so that tells me very few or no one read it)

Hello,

I am the author of the gbvicv01 release.
After this first release a long time ago Mayhem is taking care of the second
release i guess....
But it's taking a long time.
Maybe Mayhem wants to respond?
I have already updated the database so if it takes too long i can
release gbvic20v02.
Mayhem, what is your comment on this>?

Hi sjakie43,

Thanks for letting me know whats going on.
I look farward to what happens next.

Whoa, 193meg is quite big for the VIC, sounds like fun though.

Is there anyway you can get v01 back online somewhere?

Once I get it, as I said, I'm willing to host a site for it.
(my server allows a massive amount of space)

Any idea what happen to http://home.wanadoo.nl/dirkhuppelde/ anyway of contacting the owner?

From what I've read in the forums, the link on the site died
not long after it was put up.

Regards
BILL.

Hi again,

That's my url btw.
The site was created by a friend of mine but i have no conctact with him.
He made the website because i have no knowledge of creating a website.

So if anyone wants to fix the site for me that would be great! 8)

I have lost the v01 release because of HD crash

When the HD crashed i had already worked on the v02 as far as i am now.
The 01 zip was on the hd that crashed.
So the v02 was saved phieww.
Thre are quite some people here at gb64 that have it(v01),but why not wait a short while and have the v02?

regards

Still working on it... sadly it's going really slow because of real life. It's going to definitely get finished at some point, that's a promise. Of course I might have thought better had I known when I volunteered, but I'm sure to follow this through to the end, I'm like that...
