This is me (James Burrows) and my fiancee Kate. Note the cool promotional Gamebase64 t-shirts we are wearing! Also note the fact that I burnt 5 of these t-shirts before I got one that ironed on ok. Kate did her own... worked first time...

Here's John Vallender (Gamebase64 member) and Anne. They were really nice and had a great time. John took quite a few original game cassette inserts and had all the C64 composers autograph them... I wish I remembered to take some with me! Anne is not actually sleeping in this shot, she unfortunately got caught by the camera in mid-blink! ;-)

From left to right: John V, composer David Whittaker, my friend Per and myself. I had a good chat with David Whittaker who told me he is currently working at EA and Rob Hubbard is his boss!! Along with myself, David had quite a bit to drink that night too... :-)

The lucky guy in the middle of John and myself is none other than Ben Daglish, sid author of classics such as "The Last Ninja" and "Trap". It was nice to sit and chat with Ben about some of his tunes, especially "The Last Ninja", which is one of my favourites. :-)

My friend Per, otherwise known as UL-Tomten, and me. Per is the author of the sid search engine Tomten's HVSC and STIL Search, and is also one of the maintainers of composers.c64.org and the Arnold FTP site. I've known Per for about 4 years now, he was one of the first people to have seen and beta-tested Gamebase64 v1.0! He's also the man to thank for the cool looking Gamebase64 logo at the top of the page!

Here he is... the man himself... master of the SID chip... Rob Hubbard!!! I had a long chat with Rob, who apart from being a really nice friendly guy, is now the head of EA's audio department. We talked about what he is doing now, what his favourite sid composition is, in fact I asked him so many questions I've lost count! I tried to persuade him to make a comeback to the sid scene but I don't know if I've been successful! ;-) Here's a couple of things I learned from Rob...

* He started composing at the age of 7.
* His favourite sid tune that he composed was Sanxion, but he said when he first wrote it he thought it was rubbish, but then after a while it grew on him!
* He's recently done some music for a Sherlock Holmes game.
