GB64 Recommended Games...

Impossible Mission
Mayhem says: The best thing Epyx did, and one of the best bits of software to ever come out of America. Compulsive, challenging (though not impossible) and filled to the gills with ingenuity and attention to detail. You'll want to stay a while... and possibly stay forever.

Master of the Lamps
graveyardjohn says: 3D on the Commodore? Well, sort of. Fly through the hoops and reach the genie, before doing it again. Great fun in short bursts.

Castle Wolfenstein
Neo-Rio says: "Achtung!" As well as being banned in Germany, this is the original inspiration for iD's "Wolfenstein 3D" and the FPS genre. This golden oldie forces you to rely on stealth more than firepower however. In game speech too.

Go for the Gold!
graveyardjohn says: Slightly different from Summer/World Games, and great fun with a friend. Includes archery, weightlifting, and to be a bit different - diving.

California Games
Neo-Rio says: A list of classic C64 games wouldn't be complete without California games. This multi-game collection was a hit on every platform it found it's way onto.

Mission Elevator
Neo-Rio says: Elevator Action this is not, but a rather spiffy action adventure game in similar style. Get to the top of the hotel and diffuse the bomb, collecting the code and emergency exit keys on the way up.

Gauntlet
graveyardjohn says: The official Gauntlet clone was alledgedly very bug-ridden, though the version I had on cassette didn't seem to pose any problems to us. Unless of course my brother and I were very poor at it and couldn't get far enough for it to crash! Not a bad conversion, all things considered.

Fort Apocalypse
Steve says: One of the first game i ever played on the C64, i still love this one and play through the whole game now and then. great heli-action!

Thrust
Neo-Rio says: Thrust is much like the old Atari game Gravitar, except this is way more playable and challenging. I always liked blowing the nuke reactor up before leaving the planet.
