GB64 Recommended Games...

Way of the Exploding Fist, The
Neo-Rio says: The great music, the fantastic graphics, the intelligent gameplay, are all things we remember about this fighting game. Not to mention the sampled Bruce Lee "Hiiyaaah" taken from the movie "Enter the Dragon", heard on the loading screen.

Alcazar - The Forgotten Fortress
Neo-Rio says: Get your butt onto the throne in the fortress! The game is different every time you play, and you'll have lots of fun shooting at guards chasing you. Make sure you have the right weapon for the right monster! Watch out for the genies!

Mayhem in Monsterland
Pugsy says: This game came at the end of the c64s mainstream life, the technical advances shine through and it's a fun game even if it does 'borrow' slightly from a certain console game.

Marble Madness
graveyardjohn says: A very good conversion, but to think I bought this on cassette and put up with the atrocious multi-load! Make sure you play the disk version!

Mission Elevator
Neo-Rio says: Elevator Action this is not, but a rather spiffy action adventure game in similar style. Get to the top of the hotel and diffuse the bomb, collecting the code and emergency exit keys on the way up.

Arnie's America's Cup Challenge
Neo-Rio says: This game came in the box with my C64. It took half an hour to load from tape (no joke), and since the game was so boring and frustrating I had more fun watching it load.

MULE
Neo-Rio says: When people talk about classic game design, this game often gets mentioned. It's a simple multiplayer economics simulation involving robot mules. It's always more fun to play with others than to play alone.

International Basketball
graveyardjohn says: A great two player game from 1984, I played this with my brother for ages. Easy to play, but also easy to foul and cause penalties to be awarded.

Lode Runner
Neo-Rio says: A classic platform game in every respect. If you haven't played it, you've been living under a rock. There's a level editor in there too, so you won't get bored easily when there's all those levels of treasure to collect.
